Bhubaneswar: Saumyesh Acharya, a 2020 pass out of the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, faculty of agricultural sciences of Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University here, has cracked the 2022 Odisha Civil Services examination.
OCSE 2022 results of which were published recently, found him in 83rd position.
Shri Acharya, who passed B.Sc. (Hons) in Agriculture from IAS in 2020, completed M.Sc. (Agriculture) in Agricultural Extension from the Bidhan Chandra Krishi Visvavidyalaya in West Bengal in 2022. He also cracked the UGC Net 2022 and ICAR Net in 2023.
At present, Shri Acharya is pursuing his Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension from Viswa Bharati, West Bengal.
A recipient of the Ganga Singh Chauhan Memorial Award for his research in the domain of extension, Shri Acharya has also co-authored a book titled ‘Farmer Producer Organization- The Neo Institutional Revolution in Indian farming.’
Shri Acharya was felicitated on his success by SOA Founder President Prof. (Dr.) Manojranjan Nayak at the university office on Monday. SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda, Dean of IAS, Prof. Santosh Kumar Rout, Dean (Students’ Welfare) Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das and senior professor of IAS Prof. Saroj Kumar Mohanty were present.
