New Colour For Govt Buildings

Bhubaneswar: The newly elected BJP Government has decided to change colours of government buildings and offices across the State.

A uniform colour has been finalized for the government buildings after holding discussions with different departments, said Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan here today.  

After completion of the monsoon season, the government will give new uniform colour to the public buildings, he said.

While the exterior walls will be painted with the orange shade, the borders will be painted with the red shade, officials said.

EIC-cum-Special Secretary Lakshmi Kanta Padhi has written a letter to the Engineer-in-Chief (Civil-cum-Roads), Engineer-in-Chief (DPQ), Engineer-in-Chief-cum-MD, OB&CC Ltd, Bhubaneswar and all Chief Engineers under Works Department, in this regard today.

The officers concerned have been directed to adopt uniform colour code for all new government buildings and existing buildings at the time of periodical repair and renovation work.
