Bhubaneswar: WAPCOS held a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo at Lok Seva Bhawan here today. During the meeting, issues related to energy, irrigation and infrastructure development were discussed.
WAPCOS, Mini Ratna PSU has already done various projects in Odisha. These include the Rengali Irrigation Project, Gangadhar Meher lift Irrigation Project, the Chipilima Power Channel Project.
It was discussed in the meeting that some parts of the Chipilima Power Channel needs repair and it will be inspected and necessary steps will be taken.
There was also detailed discussion about the upcoming projects. The Minister enquired about the cost, duration and specifications of the projects.
The Minister said that the discussions held in the meeting have created great potential for the infrastructure and development of Odisha with innovative solutions and forward-looking ideas.
The meeting was attended by Hemant Kumar Sharma, Principal Secretary, Energy and senior officials of Water Resources and Energy Departments.
