PM Arrives Capital City

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived here at Biju Patnaik international Airport in a special IAF aircraft, as per schedule.

Governor Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, State BJP President Manmohan Samal, and Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja welcomed him at the airport. A grand welcome has been given to the PM on his arrival at the airport.

Before arriving in Bhubaneswar, the PM on a social media post, said, “It is very special to be among the wonderful people of Odisha to launch SUBHADRA, an important scheme of the Odisha Government. This scheme will boost women empowerment and ensure financial independence for our Nari Shakti. Several other works will also be launched in the programme.”  

The newly formed BJP government in Odisha has made elaborate arrangements for the visit of the Prime Minister.   

Shri Modi directly proceeded to Gadkana village in the city, where he will interact with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Urban for half an hour.

Then the PM will proceed towards Janata Maidan. He is scheduled to stay nearly one hour (12 to 1 pm) at the venue where he will launch the Subhadra scheme and several projects including railway projects worth Rs 2871 crore and highway projects worth Rs 1,000 crore, officials said.  After gracing the meeting, Modi will leave for New Delhi at around 1.15 pm.

This will be the maiden visit of the PM after the BJP formed government for the first time in Odisha. So, the state government and the Governing Party have made elaborate arrangements to make it a grand success, said a BJP leader said.

The Odisha police have made tight security arrangements for the visit of Shri Modi. Around 3,000 policemen including 500 officers will be deployed in the city.

The police have completed carcade rehearsal on the route and barricaded the entire route. The entire stretch, Janata Maidan and Gadkana village have been declared as no-flying zones, said Cuttack-Bhubaneswar police commissioner Sanjeeb Panda.

He said all security arrangements have been made as per Blue Book. A total of 11 DCP-rank officers, 22 additional DCPs, 66 ACP-rank officers, 100 inspectors, and 300 officers, along with 81 platoons of forces (each comprising 30 personnel) and 500 home guards will be deployed to provide security for the visit of Prime Minister, Panda informed.

Notably, for the last time, Shri Modi had visited Odisha on June 12 this year to grace the oath taking ceremony of the BJP government.
