Bhubaneswar: Gurujee Chandra Bhanu Satpathy, renowned globally for his selfless service, literary works, spiritual teachings, and humanitarian contributions, was honored with D.Litt. from KIIT Deemed University during its 20th annual convocation today.
This prestigious award marks the seventh such recognition bestowed upon Gurujee, with previous honors from Rastriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha University, Berhampur University, Ravenshaw University, Sikshya O Anusandhan University, North Odisha University, and Sri Venkateswara University.
In his acceptance speech, Gurujee Dr. Satpathy remarked, “The best point of success starts from the point where one is challenged by failure.” The D.Litt. was presented by the Governor of Odisha, His Excellency Raghubar Das, in acknowledgment of Gurujee’s transformative contributions to public service, spirituality, arts, culture, and humanitarianism.
The grand ceremony took place at KIIT’s Kathajodi campus, with several dignitaries in attendance. A citation read during the event highlighted Gurujee’s literary achievements, notably his magnum opus, Shri Guru Bhagabat, which has been translated into 20 Indian languages and dialects, making a profound impact on spiritual thought across cultures and continents.
In 2015, Dr. Satpathy was invited to offer the opening prayer as Guest Chaplain in the United States House of Representatives. Furthermore, King County in Washington State proclaimed July 13 as Shri Guru Bhagabat Day, and the cities of Bellevue and Seattle also honored him by declaring the same date as Chandra Bhanu Satpathy Day, making him the first Indian to receive such recognition in the United States of America.
