Bhubaneswar : Senior BJD Lawmaker Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo has been demanding for Modernisation of historic Balangir town with newest town planning method for providing modern drainage, development roads, parks, etc.
Today, Shri Singh Deo, MLA Bolangir has asked Housing & Urban DevelopmentMinister Krushna Chandra Mohapatra about the State Government’s plan in this regard.
While replying to a question of Shri Singh Deo, the Minister said, “There is a proposal for modernisation of historic Bolangir city with newest town planning.”
The GIS (Geographical Information System) based draft Master Plan for Bolangir comprising of 27 Revenue villages has been published under Section 31 (1) of OTP&IT Act, 1956, he said.
The Master Plan has been prepared on an outsourcing basis.
An agreement in this regard has been signed between Special Planning Authority, Bolangir and NF InfraTech Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi on 24 July 2015, Dr. Mohapatra informed.
The Special Planning Authority, Bolangir has also received objections and suggestions from the locals on publication of the GIS based draft Master Plan for Bolangir.
“Considering the objections and suggestions received from the citizens, necessary steps are being taken by the Special Planning Authority, Bolangir for preparation of the GIS based Final Master Plan,” he added.
Kalikesh has also asked the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister about development of ECO Tourism Projects in Bolangir district.
In his reply, Minister Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia said two places–Bhimdunguri and Gaikhai in Bolangir district have been developed under Ecotourism.
At present, no proposal is with the Government for development of Ecotourism at any other place in Bolangir district, Shri Singh Khuntia said.
