Bhubaneswar: Top Cop Yogesh Bahadur Khurania has taken over as Director General of Police of Odisha on 16 August.
A 1990 Batch IPS Shri Khurania is the new DGP & Head of Police Force (HoPF).
Odisha Government after receiving recomendation from UPSC and appointed him as DGP on 16 August, said a notification of Department of Home.
Shri Khurania was on Central Deputation since 2018 and before repatriation to State Cadre he was posted as Special DG, BSF.
Shri Khurania is an outstranding IPS Officer having inclination to work hard and honestly.
He has been all along truthfully and diligently performed his duties in various capacities in the State and Centre.
Shri Khurania was welcomed by senior police officers in the State Police Headquarters.
He replaced Interim DGP Arun Kumar Sarangi. Shri Sarangi is an IPS Officer of 1990 Batch also.
