SJTA Chief Gets Probe Reoprt

Puri: Chief Administrator, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Dr.Arabinda Kumar Padhee has said that the Committee appointed by the SJTA to probe the incident of Lord Balabhadra slipping from the Taladhwaja chariot in Puri on 9 July has presented the Probe Report to SJTA Chief himself on 14 August.

The Management Committee of the Shree Jagannath Temple in it’s next meeting will consider the Probe Report and will take a decision in this regard, said Dr.Padhee in his X platform today after receiving the Report.

In a major mishap during this Rath Jatra, Lord Balabhadra slipped on the ‘Charamala’ while being taken off his Taladhwaja chariot to the ‘Adapa Mandap’ of Shree Gundicha temple in ‘Goti Pahandi’ on 9 July evening.

Amidst widespread outrage against servitors for their alleged negligence that led to the mishap, SJTA appointed a three member committee. The committee consists of an Additional District Magistrate (ADM), an SJTA Administrator and a Deputy Superintendent of Police.

The Committee inquired the matter in a detailed manner and video footage of the incident was also examined, said sources.

In the mishap, around seven servitors were said to have suffered injuries and servitors were blamed for their wrongdoing.
