Bhubaneswar: The State Government has formed a three-member inquiry committee to probe into the sexual harassment allegations against a resident doctor of SCB Medical College and Hospital.
Shalini Pandit, Secretary Health and Family Welfare Department has set up a three-member inquiry under the chairmanship of Director Medical Education and Training(DMET) Santosh Kumar Mishra, Medical Superintendent Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra and Roma Rattan, Joint DMET are two other members of the panel.
The Committee will undertake a detailed enquiry into the allegation and recommend action to the government, as per the order of the Department.
The alleged incident took place on Sunday when the women had come to the cardiology department of the premier government hospital for an echocardiogram test.
“The Mangalabag police station has received a written complaint from the two patients on Monday and a case was registered,” Cuttack Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) Anil Mishra said.
The accused was reportedly beaten up by some relatives of the patients, though Shri Mishra said police have not received any formal complaint in this regard.
Meanwhile, the doctor has been arrested for allegedly raping two women patients at the SCB Medical College and Hospital, police sources said.
