Paris: In a historic achievement, Manu Bhaker has secured a bronze medal in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
This marks the first medal for India at the Paris 2024 Olympics and the first Olympic medal in shooting for India since the London 2012 Olympic Games.
With this achievement, Manu becomes the first Indian female shooter to win a medal in Olympics, a day after she became the first female shooter to reach an Olympic final in an individual event in the last 20 years.
The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has congratulated Manu Bhaker on winning the Bronze medal in Women’s 10m Air Pistol event at Paris Olympics 2024.
The Prime Minister posted on X:

With Team India has officially kick started their medal tally at the Paris Olympics, National Rifle Association of India(NRAI), Senior Vice President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo expressed hope that India will clinch many more medals in Paris Olympics.
Not only does this mark India’s first medal at the Paris Olympics with hopefully many more to come, said Shri Singh Deo.

Manu Bhaker in her X Platform said “Winning this medal is a dream come true, not just for me but for everyone who has supported me. I dedicate this victory to my country for their incredible support and love.”
