Bhubaneswar: With the adoption of new technology based systems, the State Government has collected Rs 403.12 crore land revenue till June end of the current Financial Year 2024-25.
According to official sources, the State Revenue and Disaster Management, Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Satyabrata Sahu reviewed the collection data with senior officials.
State has collected Rs 274.32 crore from stamp duty and Rs 128.80 crore as registration fees during April to June this year.
Highest Rs 85.46 crore of land revenue collected from Khurda district while Rs 41.28 crore has been collected from Cuttack district. It was followed by Ganjam district with a total collection of Rs 34.93 crore, Rs 31.46 crore from Koraput, Rs 29.39 crore from Puri district and Rs 25.09 crore from Balasore district.
A total of 1,00,462 sale deeds have been performed during the period. Highest 17,732 sale deeds approved in Ganjam district while 9,521 sale deeds approved by the registration authorities in Khurda district.
Similarly, a total of 9547 sale deeds were approved during April to June in Cuttack district, followed by Balasore (8,301), Puri (6,331), Jajpur (5,285) and Bhadrak (4,445).
During the last financial year 2023-24, a total of Rs 1805.88 crore of land revenue was collected, of which Rs 1240.82 crore collected from Stamp Duty and Rs 565.07 crore from registration fees.
Land is an important resource of the State Government and the Revenue Department has been always giving emphasis for proper use of the resource.
Recently, ACS Shri Sahu has asked all Collectors to identify encroachments on government land in both rural and urban areas and remove encroachments as per extant rules expeditiously.
In a letter to all Collectors, ACS Shri Sahu raised serious concern about large-scale encroachments of government land and asked them to conduct surveys to identify the encroached land parcels and remove those.
