Puri: Soon after assuming charge, Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Arabinda Padhee swing into action and warned indiscipline Sevayats as a major untoward incident happened during the Adapa Mandap Pahandi Bije of Lord Balabhadra on Tuesday.
Speaking to media persons here, Dr Padhee said “The smooth conduct of other rituals such as Bahuda Jatra, Adhara Pana, and Niladri Bije of the trinity will be ensured. There will be a strong emphasis on maintaining discipline in the performance of these rituals, which is the SJTA’s foremost priority.”
He said that sevayats will be banned from carrying mobile phones to the chariots of the sibling deities. Similarly, unauthorized persons will not also allow the chariots.
Dr.Padhee said that strict action will be taken against any indiscipline during the conduct of rituals of the Lords. Only designated sevayats will be allowed on the chariots, he said.
“The focus will be on smooth conduct of the rituals with cooperation of all. We have held initial discussions with Nijogs and are hopeful of their cooperation to ensure that none bring a bad name to Shree Jagannath culture,” he said.
Dr Padhee has apologized to the Lord for the incident that happened during the Adapa Bije Pahandi ritual of Lord Balabhadra and said he will remain cautious so that such incident will not occur again.
“We have sought forgiveness of the Lord for the mishap. A panel has also been formed to probe it. The temple administration will take all steps to prevent a recurrence during the upcoming Bahuda Jatra, Suna Besha, Niladri Bije and other rituals,” the Chief Administrator stated.
“We hope they will cooperate so that there is no bad name to our culture,” he said.
