Don’t Spare Corrupt; Pujari

Bhubaneswar: After taking charge, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari today made it clear that he is going to adopt zero tolerance towards corruption in the Department.

Shri Pujari today assumed the office of Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management Department in presence of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Revenue & Disaster Management, Satyabrata Sahu. Later he took a comprehensive review of the entire sector. ACS Shri Sahu presented details in the review meeting, which went on for more than two hours.

RDC Northern Division Srikant Prusty, RDC Central and Southern Division R Santhanagopalan and other senior officers were present during the review meeting.

Speaking to media persons, Shri Pujari said there would be zero tolerance towards corruption. If any official found involved in corrupt practice, exemplary action will be taken against, he warned.      

He lauded the Department officials for creating a record in distribution of different revenue services and certificates to more than 1.04 crore people in 2023-24.

The Minister advised the Department officials to put up a mechanism to change the name in the RoR in the name of legal heir of the actual owner after his/her death.

Similarly, two newly elected Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida today assumed office of their respective departments. They also interacted with the senior officials of their respective departments.  

After taking charge, Shri Singh Deo said, “First and foremost I would like to thank the Chief Minister for having trusted me and given me one of the most important portfolios of Agriculture because it deals with the majority people of the State and the responsibility is humungous. You have to deliver.”

“We have always been faced with farmer suicide cases and others. We have to now work towards ensuring that there are no suicides by farmers in the State and this department has already achieved 90 per cent expenditure we would like to carry it forward and make it 100 per cent in the coming days,” said Singh Deo briefing reporters after assuming office.

He ensured the people of Odisha that the BJP government is committed to deliver 100 per cent of the promises made through their manifesto to the people. “They (people) have to just wait and watch for the next couple of months and our promises will start reaching them,” he assured.
