Jharsuguda: State Government has winded up the rescue operations as all the 08 bodies were recovered from River Mahanadi. These bodies were sent to the village Anjoripalli in Raigarh.
While Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced Rs.4 Lakh Ex-Gratia for the next of the kin of the deceased persons, Jharsuguda District Administration has requested the next of kin of the deceased persons to provide their bank and aadhar details.
Special Relief Commissioner and ACS Revenue & Disaster Management, Satyabrata Sahu monitored the Rescue Operations.
Srikanta Prusty, RDC Northern Division rushed to the spot along with Jharsuguda Collector Aboli S Naravane and SP Smit P Parmar.
RDC Shri Prusty led the Team Jharsuguda Administration, which continuously helped out the next of kin of the deceased persons.
As the boat was capsized on 19 April afternoon, Radhika Nishad was found dead and 07 were missing.
There were 51 people in the boat and it capsized in River Mahanadi near village Saradha.
All the bodies of Tikeswar Rathia, Lachhminibai Rathia, Nabin Rathia, Radhika Rathia, Terasbai Rathia, Kunal Rathia and Ghashiminnabai Rathia of Anjoripalli village, PO:Kharsia District Raigarh have been retrieved from the River Mahanadi.
Doctors Team from Jharsuguda moved to the spot for post-mortem and it was done on priority basis.
The bodies were sent back to their village as the Raigarh District Administration organized mortuary vehicles for the deceased persons.
