Bhubaneswar: Two days after getting relief from Delhi High Court in ‘coal scam’ case, former Union Minister Dilip Ray today reached his home town Rourkela and said he is in the BJP.
A rousing welcome has been given to Shri Ray on his arrival at Rourkela. Thousands of his well wishers and BJP workers have given him a grand welcome, which indicates that he is all set to contest the upcoming election from Rourkela Assembly seat.
Speaking to media persons at Rourkela, Shri Ray said, “I am still in BJP because my resignation has not yet been accepted. The party will decide my candidature within a day or two.”
“Not only me, the people of Rourkela are also well prepared for the election. No leader in Odisha received such a welcome by the people. This is only happening in Rourkela. People here have already made me win even before the election. I must thank all my sisters and brothers of Rourkela,” said an emotional Shri Ray.
Shri Ray further said that election is not about a fight rather it is a festival of democracy. People here choose their leader who can serve them better, he added.
Yesterday, senior BJP leader and Sundergarh MP Jual Oram had stated that Shri Ray will contest from Rourkela Assembly seat in this election. Party will declare his candidature soon.
