Bhubaneswar: For infrastructure, East Coast Railway has been sanctioned an amount of Rs. 11495.90 crore (including railway electrification funds exclusively allotted to ECoR) for the financial year 2024-25.
Decrease of 0.2% over last year (Last Year Rs.11513.74 Cr). However, there is an increase of Rs. 1127.06 Cr under Budgetary resources over last year (11.2%), officials said.
For new railway line, the budgetary grant for the year 2024-25 is Rs 2812.91 crore, (last year it was- Rs 2848.20 crore i.e. 1% less than last year budget allotment )
For doubling, the budgetary grant for 2024-25 is Rs 3818.22 crore while last year’s allocation was Rs 3834.46 crore i.e. almost same to last year’s budget allotment, the officials said.
For traffic facilities, the budgetary grant is Rs 200.70 crore for the year 2024-25. Last year, the allocation was Rs 147.39 crore which is 36% more than last year Budget allotment.
Provision of Rs 1135 crore made for safety fencing and subways on various routes with speed 130 KMPH and above with token allotment.
For Road over Bridges/Road under Bridges, the budgetary grant for 2024-25 is Rs 486.76 crore.
For railway track renewal, the budgetary grant for 2024-25 is Rs 931.55 crore, (lat year, the allocation was Rs.935.73 crore almost same to last year budget allotment)
For bridge work, the budgetary grant for 2024-25 is Rs 170.04 crore, which is 75% more than last year’s budget allotment of Rs.97 crore.
For S&T works, the budgetary grant for 2024-25 is Rs. 247.94 crore, 31% decrease over last year (Rs 357.97 crore).
Five new works sanctioned under Plan Head -35 (Railway electrification) for upgradation of Railway electrification under ECoR jurisdiction. The same will be executed by ECoR. The Centre has granted Rs 269.11 crore to ECoR in this head for the upcoming year.
For Customer Amenities, the budget grant for 2024-25 is Rs 671.40 crore) 12% decrease over last year (Rs 763.98 Cr). Total Provision for Major upgradation of stations is Rs 399.16 crore (For Phase-I Rs 169.49 crore, Phase-II Rs 204.64 Cr, Phase-III Rs 25.03 Cr) and for Amrit Bharat Station Scheme Rs 208.86 crore.
