House Advance Made Easy

Bhubaneswar: For speedy disposal of house building advance in respect of All India Service (AIS) Officers of IAS, IPS and IFS cadres, the State Government has simplified its norms.

Now onwards, the respective Administrative Departments will sanction the house building advances to the IAS, IPS and IFS Officers instead of the Finance Department.

Department of Finance has recently issued a notification to this effect.

The General Administration & Public Grievance Department will sanction the house building advance to the IAS officers, while the Home Department will sanction the advance in case of IPS officers and Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department in the case of IFS officers.

“In order to speed up the process of sanction of house building advance in respect of AIS officers, Government is pleased to delegate the power to the respective Administrative Departments such as General Administration & Public Grievance Department in case of IAS officers, Home Department in case of IPS officers & Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department in case of IFS officers for sanction of house building advance in favour of AIS officers,” read the notification.

Earlier, the house building advance in respect of AIS officers has been sanctioned by the Finance Department as the funds for sanction of the advances were kept in that Department.

On the other hand, the State Government has doubled the conveyance allowance from Rs 350 to Rs 700 per month in favour of the blind and physically handicapped and dumb employees of non-Government colleges and schools. The Finance Department has issued a circular to this effect.

“After careful consideration, the State Government have been pleased to decide that the conveyance allowance will also be payable at a flat rate of Rs.700 only per month to the employees with benchmark disabilities born on the work charged establishment and such employees of non-Government colleges and schools where pay and dearness allowance at Government rates are disbursed directly by Government,” the circular said.

This allowance was hiked after a similar increment was made in case of the employees with benchmark disabilities of the State Government in December last year.
