Shah Sets Battle Ground Warm

Bhubaneswar:  Soon after praising the BJD Government and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during a public programme, Union Home Minister and top BJP leader Amit Shah has blown the whistle for a strong fight against ruling BJD in the upcoming Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Shri Shah, who was on a two-day visit to Odisha, held crucial meetings with senior leaders of state BJP and gave clear-cut instructions to strongly fight against the BJD on ground.

The Union Minister has made it clear that even after the BJD extended support for the Centre in two crucial issues, the party will fight with the BJD at political level, a BJP leader said.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, State BJP President Manmohan Samal said Shri Shah has informed about the huge amount of allocation made to Odisha during the Modi Government tenure.

While Rs 2.93 lakh crore was allocated to Odisha during UPA government tenure, Rs 18.23 lakh crore allocated to Odisha by the Modi government in past nine years, Shri Samal said.

All BJP leaders and workers have thanked Modi for providing such a huge amount of funds to the State, he said.

Shri Shah has asked his party leaders and workers to strengthen the party at grassroots level and booth level and attack the BJD government raising corruption and scams.

The people are deprived of basic rights. As a responsible opposition party and for the interest of 4.5 crore people, the BJP top leader asked the party workers to give a strong fight against the BJD Government at Panchayat, Block, District and State level and take it to a logical end, informed the State BJP President.

Besides, Shri Shah asked the party functionaries to ensure the Central assistance reaches the grassroots.

This move of Shri Shah has surprised many. On the public platform, he praised Naveen Patnaik and his Government for its work done for disaster management and to control Maoist activities. And at the political platform, at the party headquarters, he asked the party leaders to strongly fight against the BJD.

Local political observers feel that something happened in the brief meeting between Naveen Patnaik and Shri Shah during the day. Whose result was reflected at the party meeting. Future course of action by the BJP and Centre will give a clear picture in coming days, they said.
