Bhubaneswar: The Academy of Tribal Languages and Culture (ATLC) will have a state of art complex for furthering tribal language & culture study & research.
This decision was taken at the Governing Body meeting of ATLC held under the chairmanship of SC, ST Development Minister Jagannath Saraka here today.
Secretary SC, ST Development, Roopa Roshan Sahoo, ATLC Member Secretary and SCSTRTI Director, Indramani Tripathy graced the occasion.
During the meeting, it was decided to request the State Government to allot 5 acres of land in Bhubaneswar for establishment of the research complex. A detailed discussion was held for complete transformation of the ATLC and annual budget of the Academy.
It was also decided at the Governing Body meeting to set up Language Labs in all Blocks. ATLC will also be developed as a publishing house to promote literature by and on tribal life. Emphasis was given at the meet to use technology for digital archives of publications of ATLC.
Tribal culture spaces will be developed in all schools run by the SC, ST Development Department. AT least 100 high schools will be taken up in the first phase.
Among others, Director, ST Commission, Jayant Janardhan Sarad, Director (ST) Srikanta Tarai, Members, Padmashree Damayanti Beshra, Medinidhar Jani and Gulab Singh and others attended the meeting.
