Bhubaneswar: Team MP Civil Supplies has lauded Paddy Procurement System of Odisha for its transparency and innovativeness.
A delegation of Madhya Pradesh Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department led by H S Parmar, Joint Director, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department along with K K Srivastava, General Manager, Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation and Parag Pathak, IT Consultant visited Odisha to study the innovative methods adopted by the State Government to automate the paddy procurement process & Targeted Public Distribution System (TDPS) transformation.
The Team MP visited Rice Receiving Centre-cum-Departmental Storage Centre (DSC), Mancheswar to study its functioning and lauded the transparent Supply Chain Operations followed by the State.
They also visited Santholia Rice Mill, Balianta Block, Khordha to see the paddy milling process and were astonished to learn that Odisha is procuring paddy directly from farmers by opening Paddy Purchase Centres in all 30 districts which facilitates farmers to sell their produce almost at their doorstep.
Team MP proceeded to Maitree Fair Price Shop under BMC Bhubaneswar to understand the functioning of the food grain ATM installed in the FPS centre and how it has reduced manual dispensing and automated the distribution of food grains under PDS.
The delegates interacted with Food Supplies and Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation (OSCSC) officials to understand the modalities and workflow of P-PAS, supply chain management system, ration card management system, fair price shop automation & grievance redressal system.
Team MP Leader Shri Parmar lauded the steps taken by Odisha Government in the implementation of NFSA leading to becoming the No. 1 performing state in the country and paddy procurement automation system.
