Bhubaneswar : Veteran Administrator Asit Tripathy assumed office of the Principal Advisor to Chief Minister and Chairman Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) on 11 January.
After assuming the office, Mr.Tripathy reviewed the activities of the Council in the conference hall of the Rajiv Bhawan with senior officers of the council.
Reviewing the activities, Mr.Tripathy said, “The main objective of the Council is to achieve balanced regional development in the State. For the purpose, WODC will be made more vibrant and effective in formulation of the need based projects, their timely completion and quick delivery of services to the people”.
He directed the officers of the council to prepare a base line data platform of the critical developmental indicators on the basis of micro level survey reports. The officials were further directed to adopt 5T principles in quick movement of files and transparent decision making.
The CEO of the Council Saroj Kumar Patel, present in the meeting was directed to computerize the files and get connected to OSWAS.
Further, Mr. Tripathy directed all officers of the Council to scale up their performance level and achieve definite output in terms of socio-economic development. He said, “If required the officers and the staff will be provided the capacity enhancement training in their respective fields of work and operation”.
Mr.Tripathy emphasized on the disposal of the files on the same day. He also directed the CEO to prepare resolutions of the meetings on the same day.
The review showed that around three thousand micro and small projects are at various stages of implementation in ten districts within the orbit of WODC, namely Bargarh, Bolangir, Boudh, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Subarnapur Sundargarh and Athmallik sub-division of Angul district. Sri Tripathy directed to design the sustainable projects with of substantial impact on life and livelihood of the people.
The officer and staff at sixth floor of Rajiv Bhawan were seen highly motivated and inspired with joining of Mr.Tripathy, former Chief Secretary of Odisha as Chairman of the Council.
His joining while inspiring the officers and staff with new team spirit has also triggered hopes and aspirations of the people of Western Odisha.
