Bhubaneswar: The State Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday approved tenders for mega water supply projects worth Rs 1165 crore.
The State Cabinet has taken a decision for execution of Mega Piped Water Supply Project with a cost of Rs 261.97 crore to provide safe drinking water in Koraput District out of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) funding.
By execution of the project, around 1,61,902 people of 167 villages under 31 GPs of two Blocks of the District will be benefited. On this account,90516 people of 82 villages under 15 GPs of Jeypore Block and 71386 people of 85 villages under 16 GPs of Kundra Block of the District will be provided with safe drinking water.
The Cabinet has approved another tender worth Rs 114.68 crore for execution of Mega Piped Water Supply Project to provide safe drinking water in Rayagada District out of JJM funding. By execution of the projects, around 35,404 people of 129 villages under 15 GPs of Ramanguda and Kolnara Blocks of the District will be benefited.
Another mega drinking water project of Rs 431.10 crore has been approved by the Cabinet to provide safe drinking water to d 4,32,916 people of 544 villages under 85 GPs of 04 Blocks of the Jagatsinghpur district.
Besides, the panel has given its seal of approval for another tender of Rs 356.68 crore for execution of another Mega Drinking Water Supply project in Angul District out of JJM funding. By execution of the projects, around 2,19,309 people of 555 villages under 47 GPs of 02 Blocks of the District will be benefited.
