Pradeep Kumar Jena has taken over as new Development Commissioner of Odisha here on 1 January.
1989 Batch IAS, Mr.Jena took over as Suresh Chandra Mohapatra left DC post to take over as Chief Secretary of the State.
He will also continue as Additional Chief Secretary(ACS) Rural Development and Special Relief Commissioner and Managing Director Odisha State Disaster Management Authority(OSDMA).
After taking over the assignment, he called on Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra and wished him a Happy New Year.
Both Mr.Jena and Mr.Mohapatra happily shared some moments and had a photo session.
Development Agenda for the State is foremost in the minds of Mr.Jena, who is a workaholic mandarin.
While he has worked in several developmental departments, Mr.Jena, known for his No-Nonsense approach is working out the Road Map for accelerating development process in the State.
During the day he held discussion with several Principal Secretaries and senior officials on various issues, said sources.
Mr.Jena, an ardent devotee of Lord Jagannath has held the post of Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) seeks blessings of Lord of Universe for benefit of the people and the state.
“There will be overdrive for accelerating development process in the State with the presence of Mr.Jena”, said a senior mandarin after meeting the new Development Commissioner.
