Baripada: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today launched various development projects worth over Rs 420 crore for various blocks of Mayurbhanj district.
The Chief Minister has inaugurated 133 projects worth over Rs 328 crore and laid foundation stones for 52 projects worth Rs 91 crore at a special programme at Bishoi.
He has also announced plans to set up a +2 college at the Bisoi block headquarters and named the mini stadium at Bisoi after the great freedom fighter Dharanidhar Naik and his statue will be installed there.
Addressing a program organized at Bishoi mini stadium, Shri Majhi said that all these projects have added a new chapter in the development journey of Mayurbhanj district.
Today is a day of pride and honor for the people of the district. All these projects will create a new era of development in Rairangpur, Kusumi, Bijatsala, Bahalda, Jamda, Tiring areas and will lay the foundation for building a prosperous Odisha, he said.
“During the last 11 months, we have been able to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people of Odisha. In this short period, whether it is opening the four doors of the Jagannath temple or Subhadra scheme for mothers or the minimum support price of paddy for farmers to Rs 3100, we took decisions in 24 minutes, which could not be done in the last 24 years,” Shri Majhi said while criticizing the previous BJD government.
Subhadra scheme and support for farmers have strengthened the rural economy today. The government has also started the CM Kisan Yojana for the farmers. Today, more than 1 crore women of the State have benefited from the Subhadra Yojana and 17 lakh women of the state have become Lakhpatis, he pointed out.
With the support of the Central Government, Odisha is going to witness massive growth in the industrial sector, the CM said, adding, “Our government has set a target to establish industries in every district of the State. The immense success of Utkarsh Odisha has brought this new opportunity for us.”
He informed that many industrial projects will be set up in Mayurbhanj district in the coming days. Industrial projects worth Rs 10,000 crore will be set up in the district.
This industrialization will double the development of the district and will bring huge opportunities for employment and employment for the people of the district, the Chief Minister said.
“Our government is a people’s government. We believe in work, not words. For this, we have brought changes in the system of governance. For years, the government and public representatives did not listen to the grievances of the people. We have brought changes in the system. Therefore, the elected people’s representatives are directly listening to the grievances of the people and taking steps for their resolution,” Shri Majhi pointed out.
Odisha, especially rural women, are now economically empowered and self-reliant, which is definitely a good time for the economic growth of the rural people of the State, he added.
Focusing on the centenary celebration of the State in 2036, Majhi said, “We have prepared 36 welfare programs to be implemented by 2036. This is called ’36 for 36′. We will build a prosperous Odisha with the efforts of 4.5 crore people of Odisha. This will be the Odisha of our dreams. We aim to achieve excellence in all areas such as education, health, industry, and infrastructure by 2036,” the CM added.
The Chief Minister distributed compensation to families of deceased construction workers, marriage incentive to daughters of construction labourers and financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to women of self-help groups.
