Bhubaneswar: In order to streamline and strengthen the traffic and road safety system in the State, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today approved the creation of 2000 new posts in the traffic wing of the Police department.
As per the Chief Minister’s decision, 70 new posts have been created in the state-level traffic system, while 1930 posts have been created in the district-level set-up.
ADGP/IGP one post, DIG (Police) one post, 2 SP posts, 4 DSP rank positions, 6 Inspectors, 8 SIs, 8 ASIs, 22 Constables, 10 Drivers, one Establishment Officer, one Section Officer, three ASOs and three Junior Assistant posts have been created. A total of 70 posts have been created at State-level.
Similarly, in the district-level set-up, the government has created five DSP posts, 41 Inspector posts, 83 Sub-Inspector posts, 83 ASI posts, 310 Havildar posts and 1408 Constable posts.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that this will strengthen the traffic system of the state and Odisha will become a leading state in the field of road safety, which will be emulated by other states.
In another major decision in the Home department, Shri Majhi has enhanced the remuneration of employees engaged in the newly formed three Battalions of the Odisha Special Strike Force. These will mainly consist of former Army and Navy soldiers and Centrally Armed Police personnel.
As per the decision of the Chief Minister, the monthly salary of Sepoy (GD) has been increased from Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000.
Similarly, the salary of Lance Naik/Naik/Havildar (GD) has been increased from Rs 32,000 to Rs 50,000, Junior Commissioned Officer (GD) from Rs 40,000 to Rs 55,000, Junior Commissioned Officer (Instructor) from Rs 40,000 to Rs 55,000.
Further, the monthly salary of dinghy drivers/seamen mechanics/sailors has increased from Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000, that of engine drivers/engineers from Rs 32,000 to Rs 50,000, and that of masters from Rs 40,000 to Rs 55,000.
