Bhubaneswar: Ahead of Durga Puja, the State Government on Monday announced a hike of 3 percent in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for the Government employees and pensioners, with retrospective effect from 1 January, 2022.
This will be applicable to regular employees and pensioners, whose number would be 7.5 lakhs in the state.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved a proposal in this regard. The rate of DA will now be enhanced to 34 percent from the existing 31 percent.
The employees will get the additional DA amount in their September salary. The eight months arrear will be paid in another phase, a statement released by CMO said.
Around 4 lakh regular employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners of the State Government will be benefited from the hike.
