14 Varsities Get VCs

Bhubaneswar: Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, in his capacity as the Chancellor of State Universities, has officially appointed new Vice Chancellors for fourteen different Universities across the state.

These appointments were made under the powers conferred by the Odisha Universities Act of 1989 and the Odia University Act of 2017. The announcements, released through the Office of the Chancellor at Lok Bhavan in Bhubaneswar, represent a significant administrative update for the state’s higher education landscape.

Among the prominent appointments, Professor Chandi Prasad Nanda has been named the Vice Chancellor of Utkal University, while Professor Arka Kumar Das Mohapatra will take charge at Ravenshaw University. Professor Santosh Kumar Tripathy has been appointed to lead Fakir Mohan University. These leadership changes are intended to provide fresh direction to some of the state’s oldest and most prestigious academic institutions.

The list of appointments extends to various specialized and regional universities. Professor Sanjaya Kumar Patro is the new Vice Chancellor of Dharanidhar University, Professor Byomakesh Tripathy takes the helm at Gangadhar Meher University, and Professor Asima Sahu has been appointed to Khallikote Unitary University.

For legal and cultural education, Professor Sibaram Tripathy has been appointed to Madhusudan Law University, Professor Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra to Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University, and Professor Satyanarayan Acharya will lead Odia University.

Other notable selections include Professor Pawan Kumar Agrawal for Maa Manikeshwari University, Professor Mahendra Kumar Mohanty for Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, and Professor Bibhuti Bhusan Malik for Rajendra University. Additionally, Professor Jyotsna K.B. Rout has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Rama Devi Women’s University, and Professor Hrushikesh Senapaty will lead Vikram Dev University.

In his official statement, the Chancellor extended his best wishes to the new appointees, emphasizing their vital responsibility in shaping the future of higher education within the state.
