Bhubaneswar: The World famous Mahima Gadi Peetha at Joranda in Dhenkanal district will be completely transformed under the 5T Initiative of the State Government with an investment of Rs 112 crore, thanks to V K Pandian, Secretary to CM.
The entire area of the Mahima Gadi Peetha will be developed as a “Best Spiritual Center”.
On May 29, Secretary of the Chief Minister Shri Pandian had visited the Mahima Peetha and discussed with the Saints and devotees about the complete transformation of the Peetha and advised concerned officials to submit the project report within 15 days.
According to this suggestion, the Dhenkanal District Collector presented a project proposal of Rs 112 crore to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for his approval.
It emphasizes on the overall development of the Peetha along with various facilities for the devotees.
The 5T plan includes reconstruction of Samadhi temple, Prayer Hall, wall, pond, bus stand, Kaypin Dhari Mahima Samaj Peeth, primary health center etc.
Inside the Peetha, the entire area with internal roads will be illuminated. A road will be constructed from the Jagannath temple to the school ground.
For beautification, 200 palm trees and 200 banyan trees will be planted along with restoration of the big pond in the east. Promenade will be constructed with lighting. Besides, 200 toilets will be constructed for saints and devotees at the site.
The entire project will have all kinds of facilities for Saints, devotees, and guests. All steps will be taken to make it a major pilgrimage and tourist center of the district.
