10% Reservation For Agniveers

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today announced a 10 per cent reservation for Agniveers in all uniform service jobs in Odisha.

“All the soldiers who have joined the Indian Army are our pride and glory. Our Agniveers are also well trained in the army and qualified to discharge important roles in the field of security,” the chief Minister said.

Stating that Agniveer is a landmark Yojana of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Shri Majhi said this scheme has helped to make the youth of the country competent and courageous.

The scheme has an important role in building a youth society that can accept challenges in all spheres of life, he said.

That is why the state government has decided to accept them in all the uniform services of Odisha.

The CM announced that up to 10 percent reservation will be given during recruitment in all uniform services of the state for Agniveers from Odisha, who have not been inducted in the Indian army. A five year age relaxation will be given to them, he added.

Not only Odisha, many BJP ruled States like Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh have already announced 10 percent reservation for the Agniveers in their police departments.
