Bhubaneswar : The State Heritage Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, today decided to organize the first Ever World Odia Language Conference at the state capital Bhubaneswar for three days in February 2024.
State Tourism, Odia Language, Literature and Culture Minister Ashwini Kumar Patra, Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena and Commissioner and Secretary of Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department Sujata Rout Karthikeyan briefed the media in this regard.
According to the decision, the “World Odia Language Conference” will also be organized at the state, national and international levels. Eminent linguists and linguists of national and international repute will be invited to speak at the theme session of the conference. Students from all over the state will be included in it in a big way .
Special attention will be paid to them for the promotion of Odia language among the youth. During the conference, educational institutions/universities will organise their respective programmes.
The “World Odia Bhasha Sammelan” will be organized to promote, promote and research the Odia language in the state, outside the state and abroad. Apart from this, the impact of this conference will be far-reaching in respecting and improving the mother tongue and maintaining the identity of the Odia language for the coming generations.
