The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) is likely to declare the annual Plus II Arts stream examination by this week, said School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters here, Mr.Dash said that the process for the publication of results has reached the final stages. As per the Supreme Court order, the Plus II results were supposed to be announced before July 31.
The results of Commerce and Science streams were announced on July 31, 2021. However, the State Government had sought more time for the publication of the results of Arts stream beyond the specified deadline, he said.
“Already the process is underway and we hope to publish the Plus II Arts results by this week,” the Minister said.
Asked about reopening of the colleges for Plus II offline classes, Dash said that University Grants Commission (UGC) has already released a schedule and steps will be taken accordingly in this regard. However, final call will be taken by the State Government after reviewing the Covid situation in the State, he added.
A total of 94,532 students including 78, 8 99 regular candidates had enrolled for the Plus II examination in the Science stream this year. Out of them, 95.15 per cent students cleared the test without appearing for the exams.
Similarly, in the Commerce stream, 24,526 students including 21,996 regular candidates had enrolled for examinations. The total pass percentage this year in the Commerce stream was 94.96 per cent.
Meanwhile, the Minister further informed that the Government is going to recruit as many as 11,450 teachers soon. The posts of teachers will be filled up in three phases. Notification in this regard will be published on August 23, he said.
The Government will fill up the post of 2055 Hindi teachers, 1304 Sanskrit teachers and 1260 Physical Education Teachers (PET) in the first phase.
In the second phase, as many as 6065 posts of TGT and Telugu teachers will be filled up. Apart from it, as many as 940 newly created teacher posts including Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), Classical and Hindi teachers will be recruited soon, said Mr.Dash.
