Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy has directed official to fast track the establishment of Cancer Hospital at Bargarh
While Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik announced earlier for setting up of a Cancer Care Facility at Bargarh, Chief Secretary Mr.Tripathy asked the officials to take up the project on top priority basis.
He advised the officials while reviewing its progress in a high level meeting today held on virtual platform from Lokseba Bhawan.
Additional Chief Secretary Health & Family Welfare, Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra outlined the issues for discussion.
Discussions in the meeting show that the cancer care hospital will be established in the Ddistrict Head Quarter Hospital at Bargarh.
In the meanwhile, the Expert Committee has already selected the site and outlined the clinical facilities to be available in the proposed Hospital.
The major facilities include radiotherapy, CT simulator, HDR Brachytherapy, dosimetry, immobilization, histopathology laboratory, emergency care and day care chemotherapy. A bunker of 100 ft x 100 ft area will be constructed for radiotherapy unit.
It is proposed to start it as a 50 bedded Cancer Care Facility.
Mr.Tripathy directed to equip the hospital properly with adequate doctor and paramedics.
It was decided to place human resources like radiation oncologist, medical physicist, radiotherapy technician, emergency doctors, nurses, front office executives, pharmacist, chemo-nurses along with auxiliary personnel.
Mr.Tripathy also directed to put in place appropriate housekeeping and sanitization system for upkeep of the hospital.
Director National Health Mission Salini Pandit, Director Acharya Harihar Post Graduate Institute of Cancer, Cuttack, Lalatendu Sadangi, Director Odisha Medical Corporation Yamini Sarangi, Director Information & Public Relations, Krupasindhu Mishra along with senior doctors and officers from respective departments participated in the deliberations.
