Expand Economic Program; CM

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed the District Magistrates to expand the economic program to protect the rural people from the economic downturn due to Covid-19 Pandemic. 

Chief Minister Mr.Patnaik  emphasized the need to provide more funding for various livelihood projects. 
 
Reviewing Covid's management today,  Chief Minister had directed the villagers to look for ways to make more money through other livelihood programs, including MGNREGS. 
 
He also said that the priority was to implement the package announced for agriculture, fisheries, horticulture, forestry and soil conservation.
 
In addition, the Chief Minister advised the farmers, mothers of Mission Shakti, MSME and weavers to ensure more loan assistance. 
 
As India's first quarterly economic growth was 23 per cent negative, the Chief Minister stressed the need to protect our people from its ill effects.
 
Chief Minister lauded the work of all the cowboy fighters, including the doctors and health workers of the Department of Health and family Welfare. 
 
The Chief Minister expressed satisfaction that the number of Covid healers in the state has reached 1.25 lakh and that more than one lakh patients have recovered in the last five weeks alone and congratulated the Covid warriors and doctors, health workers for their work.
 
In other parts of the state, strict compliance with the Covid law is commendable, while in the Cuttack Commissionerate area in Bhubaneswar, it is not so encouraging, the Chief Minister said.
 
During the meeting, the Director General of Police, among others, briefed on the steps taken by the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commission to strictly enforce the Covid rules.
 
Attending the meeting, Health Minister Naba Kishore Das informed that the mortality rate was low.
 
Chief Secretary, Asit Tripathy, Development Commissioner Suresh Chandra Mahapatra, ACS Health Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra, ACS Disaster management, Pradeep Jena were present.
