The State Government launched the second edition of State Skills Competition "Odisha Skills 2020" on 07 February 2020, said Sanjay Kumar Singh Secretary Skill Development and Technical Education.
The State Government announced that the State level Competition will be held on 28-30 April 2020 at Bhubaneswar, said Mr.Singh.
In this edition, the competition has seen good response from the youth of State where nearly 15000 students have registered for the competition.
The competition will be conducted in 46 skills across 6 Sectors and the winner will represent the state in the national skill competition "India Skills".
The winner of India skills will represent India in the World Skills Shanghai 2021.
The Odisha Skill Development Authority has set the mission 2-4-6 which means 2 Gold, 4 Silver and 6 Bronze Medals shall be won by the youth of Odisha in the World Skills Shanghai 2021.
The launch of competition has set the ball to roll for various level of the skill competition to be held.
The first level of competition will be on 08 February 2020 where written objective based for 23 skills across 30 districts.
Masood Hussiany, Head - Aerostructures and Aero Engines, Tata Aerospace and Defence was the Chief Guest for the event.
Premananda Nayak, Minister for Skill Development & Technical Education, Subroto Bagchi, Chairman, Odisha Skill Development Authority graced the occasion.
Rajesh Pravakar Patil, Director, Special Project, Panchayatiraj Department, Rashmita Panda, Director Employment cum CEO, OSDA were also present.
