Roy Takes Over Fire Services

Veteran IPS officer Sunil Roy on Monday took charge as the new Director General (DG) of Fire Service Home Guards and Civil Defence here at the Head Office.

IGP Fire Services and Home Guards, Asheet Panigrahi and other senior officers greeted Mr.Ray.

1987 Batch IPS Mr.Roy was Director Intelligence before joining the Chief of Fire Services.

“As public servants our first and foremost duty is toward the public and to attend to their grievances,” said Mr.Roy after taking the charge.

The Home Guard Organisation has always been working in collaboration with the State Police, said he.

Effort will be made for strengthening this collaboration, Mr.Roy said. The Fire Services is more of an emergency service, he said.

Focus will be on maintaining transparency and providing time bound service beside making a positive transformation with effective work for betterment of both the department, Mr.Roy pointed out.
