Bhubaneswar: Shakuntala Jena, Mother of Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena, passed away today.
She was 81 years old at the time of his death. Family members, friends and loved ones have expressed deep grief over his demise. He passed away at around 1.40 pm today.
State Development Commissioner, Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary, Surendra Kumar, Principal Secretary Dr. Arvind Kumar Padhi, Principal Secretary, Industry Hemant Sharma, Principal Secretary SSEPD, Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary Vishal Dev, Principal Secretary, Rural Development, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Science & Technology, Chitra Arumugam, Principal Secretary E&IT, Manoj Kumar Mishra, OSPCB Member Secretary Dr. K. Murugesan, IDCO & IPICOL MD, Bhupendra Singh Poonia, Secretary Higher Education, Arvind Agarwal and other senior officials of the State Administration went to the official residence of the Chief Secretary at Bhubaneswar Unit-6 today and paid their last respects to the mortal remains of the late Shrimati Jena .
He paid tributes by presenting wreaths and bouquets. Later this evening, she was taken to Puri Swargadwar and last rites were performed.
