A team of CBI sleuths have sought more documents from BJD Vice President and senior Lawmaker Debi Prasad Mishra in his Bhubaneswar official residence in connection with much hyped Seashore Chit Fund Scam.
A Positive COVID-19 Patient, Mr.Mishra, who is under treatment in home isolation received the Team at his place in morning and talked to them for quite some time maintaining physical distance and other Covid guidelines.
It is pertinent to mention here that Apex Court of the country had directed CBI to take up cases of 44 chit fund companies including Seashore of Odisha and accordingly since 2013 investigation is going on.
Though CBI sleuths avoided to make any comment on the spot, Badamba MLA Mr.Mishra has told that they came to discuss with me with respect to the case and he has extended my co-operation to the investigating agency.
It is worth mentioning that during tenure of Mr.Mishra as Minister of Tourism and Culture, State Government signed MoU with Seashore Group for a Water Sports Complex with Restaurant on River Mahanadi near Cuttack
and another project in Khordha district.
Earlier CBI also interrogated few others including Mr.Mishra in this regard few months back.
The investigating agency took the required documents from administrative department earlier.
CBI officials also searched at different places including Narasinghpur in this regard, said sources.
However, Mr.Mishra has clarified that the sleuths came to seek few more documents in this regard.
