Team Begins Damage Assess

The Inter Ministerial Central Team led by Praveen Vashista, Joint Secretary Home Affairs has started visiting the flood affected districts to assess the damage due to heavy rains and flash floods occurred in August.

Mr.Vashista, Joint Secretary (LWE), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India is on a 2-day visit to Odisha.

The Central Team is visiting the State for an on the spot assessment of the situation in the wake of Flood in August 2020.

The team comprises of Members from the Ministry, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Water Resources, Road Transport & Highways, Rural Development and Finance.

The Team arrived here in the morning today and held discussion with SRC P K Jena and Teams moved to districts.

During the 2-day program, the team will be visiting 4 districts namely Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada and Puri and return to Bhubaneswar on 17 September afternoon.

A wrap up meeting will be held with the team under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary on 17 September, 5 PM in Lok Seva Bhawan.

Among others, Development Commissioner, SC Mahapatra, Agriculture Production Commissioner, R K Sharma, Special Relief Commissioner & Additional Chief Secretary, Disaster Management P K Jena and Secretaries of different departments will attend the said meeting.

The Team is scheduled to return in the evening of 17 September.
