With Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) fully implementing all the Lockdown Guidelines of Government of India during the construction of chariots, awareness on Covid by Doctors of Puri amongst Moharana and Bhois were taken up in an organized manner on Saturday.
Chief Administrator SJTA, Dr Krishan Kumar, a strict disciplinarian has ensured implementation of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Guidelines as well as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)s prescribed by the Odisha Government during the Chariot construction process.
SJTA is regularly monitoring the intensive communication and training efforts on good hygiene practices for persons involved in chariot construction.
Length of Ratha Khala has been substantially enhanced to 250 feet long to ensure social distancing and the area is covered with temporary partitions to prevent any contact with general public. Further, a restricted zone of another more than 100 feet has been created.
SJTA has made the provision of Thermal Scanning, hand washing and sanitizers are made available to all the people engaged in construction work.
Frequent sanitization of the entire work place and common facilities will be taken up and all the people engaged in construction job are wearing face mask.
With strict focus on measures to contain Novel Corona Virus (Covid-19) amongst servitors by Shree Jaganatha Temple Administration; Devi Prasad Mahapatra, ADPHO(FW) Puri, the Laison Officer on behalf of the District Health Administration Puri has made all arrangements for check up of health conditions of Maharana, Bhoi, Rupakar and Kamar Servitors engaged in construction of chariots on account of Rath Jatra-2020.
Dr.Mahapatra also took necessary steps to coordinate with SJTA’s Administrator (Development) and set up Special Health Centre for screening, testing of all persons involved in chariot construction.
He is being assisted by Pritish Ranjan Mohapatra, AYUSH Medical Officer and MPHWs including Avilash Hota, Milan Mohapatra and Paresh Swain are extending their support to carry out the efforts.
While all precautionary measures are being taken to fight spread of Covid 19 by SJTA ; servitors have also come forward to sacrifice to ensure that Rath construction can be completed within guidelines of MHA.
The servitors involved in the process have mostly agreed to the proposal of SJTA to shift to Bhakta Niwas and Neelachal Jatri Niwas and have decided to agree to proposal of SJTA to not to go home.
This will expedite the process of Rath construction and also set an example for others to follow.
SJTA Deputy Chief Balwant Singh is ensuring that nothing goes wrong and he is monitoring the situation 24x7.
After Managing Committee of Shri Jagannath Temple decided to go for construction of chariots of Trinity and approached the State Government, preliminary arrangements were taken up by SJTA.
With MHA Clearance to go ahead with construction of chariots, SJTA is adhering to the Guidelines scrupulously and taking up various measures to ensure the servitors remain hale and hearty in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Strict instructions have been issued any person showing any symptom of COVID-19 will be immediately sent for check up to Special Health centre.
Special Quarantine Centre is also made available for any person involved in chariot construction requiring isolation as per Government Guidelines, said sources.
