OPTCL Lifts Power Cup


Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary, Energy has urged to work in Team Spirit for scaling up Power Sector in Odisha.

Mr.Sethi addressing the winning team of OPTCL as Chief Guest of the Occasion presented the Champion’s Trophy and Cash Prize of Rs. 15,000 to the winning team OPTCL.

“Like Cricket, all the Power Utilities should work in a team for the betterment of Odisha Power Sector”  said Mr.Sethi in his address.

OPTCL won the match by 25 runs against SOUTHCO. OPTCL after winning the toss decided to bat first and scored 132 runs in 20 over with the loss of 6 wickets.

SOUTHCO could score only 107 runs in 20 over with loss of 9 wickets.

Abhay Mallick from OPTCL won the Man of the Match title for scoring 63 runs in 45 balls. Mr.Mallick was also awarded with man of the series award for outstanding performance in the entire tournament.

Present on the occasion were Prabodh Kumar Mohanty, Director (OHPC), Ramesh Chandra Mishra, CGM Finance, Gopal Chandra Pati, CGM Construction, Swarup Harichandan, CGM Operation, Shankar Krishnan, CGM Safety, Srinivas Mahapatra, CGM Finance GRIDCO and Chief Load Despatcher, Prabodh Kumar Mishra.

The Tournament was well organized by Dilip Jena, Pravat Kumar Das, Subrat Nayak, Chitta Ranjan Mishra, Santosh Kumar Dash and Umakanta Balliarsing under the leadership of Chandra Sekhar Pradhan, GM (HRD) CR.
