NITI Aaayog has sanctioned Rs.6 Crore for Koraput and Nabarangpur, which has secured good rank in Aspirational District Program.
Both the backward districts have performed exceedingly well in Overall Delta Ranking and Agriculture and Water Resources respectively.
While Nabarangpur has stood Third in Overall Ranking in the Country, Koraput has done exceedingly well in Agriculture and Water Resources Sector.
While Sukma in Chhattisgarh stood First in Overall Ranking in the Country, Udalguri in Assam stood Second in India.
Both the District Collectors of Koraput, Madhusudan Mishra and Collector Nabaranpur, Ajit Kumar Mishra have been lauded for their efforts in scaling up development process in the respective Districts.
NITI Aayog Chief Executive Amitabh Kant has congratulated the District Teams as well as Central Prabhari Officers of the Districts concerned.
The Aspirational Districts, those are performing exceedingly well were allocated Additional Allocations for development programs on the basis of various indicators.
Earlier, Malkangiri has been allocated additional Rs.3 Crore for its excellent performance.
On the basis of performance in October-November, 2019, both the districts are allocated additional funds for development, said an official.
In the meantime NITI Aayog has informed the State Government in this regard and heaped appreciation for the District Collectors and their Teams.
CEO NITI Aayog Mr.Kant has also urged the State Administration to make a Good Service Entry in their ACRs for their excellent performance in the districts.
Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, who is in continuous touch with NITI Aayog is monitoring the activities of the Aspirational District Programs regularly has also been appreciated by NITI Aayog, as the National Think Tank is happy with the State Administration for scaling up developmental initiatives.
Central Prabhari Officers, those who are visiting the Aspirational Districts oin regular interval are holding deliberations with Chief Secretary Mr.Tripathy.
Recently Satyabrat Sahu, Central Prabhari Officer of Rayagada after visiting the district held discussion with Chief Secretary Mr.Tripathy and briefed him about the progress and bottlenecks in implementing programs in the backward district.
In October-November Delta Ranking Rayagada, Gajapati preformed exceedingly well in provision of Basic Infrastructure and Malkangiri also performed well in Education Sector and their efforts have been appreciated by NITI Aayog.
Now both the District Administration will chalk out Detailed Program and Action Plan for implementation of the projects.
The Program and Action Plan will be sent to NITI Aayog and in turn, it will be placed with the Ministry of Finance for approval of the Projects.
Team of Experts of the Asian Development Bank(ADB) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will be guiding the District Administration in preparing the Program and Action Plan, said sources.
