Justice Sanjeeb Kumar Panigrahi took oath as a new Judge of the Orissa High Court here on Monday.
Acting Chief Justice Kumari Sanju Panda administered the oath of office to Panigarhi in the presence of other judges of the High Court.
With Justice Shri Panigrahi joining the Bench, the strength of High Court Judges in Odisha became 14 against a sanctioned strength of 22.
Born on 29 July, 1972 at Baraoudugia in Bolangir District, he graduated from Rajendra college then Law from LR Law college, Sambalpur and LL.M from National Law School , Bangalore.
His PhD Thesis was submitted at NLU Odisha cuttack .
Worked as a Research Assistant in the apex Court and then joined the Chamber of Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi in 2006.
He was a leading Columnist on contemporary legal issues in leading English Dailies
Done many leading cases including some PIL and Pro Bono cases including elephant mortality on track, seeking improvement in mid day meal scheme, setting up of dialysis machine in every district of the country, seeing up of old age home for the elderly and increased pension for them.
As International Visitor Leadership (IVLP), he was invited by the US Department of States.
He has also attended many National and International Seminars on legal issues.
