Infra For Boudh Park

 In order to promote Food Processing Sector, the State Government has asked IDCO to take steps for setting up of Food Park in Boudh and Deogarh, which have immense potential.

The Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) will provide the required infrastructure for the Food Park.
Once infrastructure is made available, then investors will come to these places, said Sanjay Kumar Singh, CMD IDCO.
While the State Government had unveiled Odisha Food Processing Policy, 2016 with an objective to provide required infrastructural support and fiscal incentives to MSMEs to enable them value addition and minimize wastage in the sector, support for Food Parks are sought from the Government.
In order to provide ready-to-use infrastructure, the Odisha Food Processing Policy 2016, proposes to set up Mega / State Food Parks at strategic locations in the districts of Deogarh, Boudh, Bhadrak, Bargarh, Nawarangpur, Sambalpur, Ganjam, Bolangir, Kandhamal and Kalahandi.
 Boudh has large scale orchards and there is scope for Food Park, said District Collector Madhusudan Mishra.
Mr.Mishra said in the Conference that land is available and there is reasonable demand for such industries.
Looking at the prospects of a Food Park in the district, IDCO CMD Sanjay Kumar Singh has urged the ACS MSME L N Gupta to make funding provisions to the tune of Rs.5 Crore for a Mini Food Park for setting up  infrastructure facilities.
Sources said Department of MSME is working out a program for setting up of State Food Parks in 25-50 Acres of land, so that Food Processing Industries will receive boost.
Recently Odisha participated as a ‘Focus State’ in the World Food India (WFI) 2017 held in New Delhi from November 3 to 5.
In the event, more than 200 global companies set up their pavilion and Odisha with own pavilion having 12 stalls showcased various processed food items of Odisha like spices, cashew, confectionary items, processed agro food and sea food.
Odisha has one Food Park at Khurda, which is operational with popular food Processing Units like Britannia, Indo-Nissan, ITC, Parle Agro, Coca Cola and others are operating in the Park.
 
And MITS Food Park at Rayagada has opened recently and soon will commence commercial operations.
 
A Sea Food Park at Deras near Capital City is at an advanced stage of execution.
 
Eastern Nutriments Limited is also in the process of development of another Food park at Ramdaspur near Cuttack.
