Union Secretary MSME, Arun Kumar Panda has urged the Odisha Government to chalk out road map for setting up more number of Clusters for SME Sector as the State has lot of potential.

Recognizing the potential for Cluster Development in Odisha, Ministry of MSME has extended all out support for the State and urged to ask for any support to increase foot prints in the MSME Sector.
Dr.Panda has said considering the existence of a good number of Micro and Small Enterprise( MSE) Clusters in Odisha, MoMSME has come down to provide crucial support for the State as the Ministry is implementing MSME Cluster Development Program (CDP) in a big way in the country.
Union Secretary has written a letter to the State Government in this regard and said that creation of infrastructure is one of the vital components for the growth and development of Industries, especially MSME Sector.
Towards this endeavor, MoMSME is implementing MSE-CDP to enhance competitiveness, collective efficiency, and sustainability of MSEs, said Dr.Panda.
While MSE-CDP Scheme is being implemented throughout the Country with active involvement of the State Government covering a wide range of activities identification of Clusters, formulation of proposals and implementation till projects are handed over to the concerned Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV)s consisting of a Group of MSEs.
So far MoMSME has approved 108 Common Facility Centers (CFC)s in the country and States like West Bengal, Kerala, tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have done well and got approved a sizable number of projects for their States.
Dr.Panda said considering the existence of a good number of MSE Clusters in Odisha, the MoMSME has decided to extend all support for the State.
So the State Government in Department of MSME is needed to chalk out a detailed program for Cluster Development.
According to sources in Department of MSME, several Clusters are being worked out and formulation of proposals and assessment of the needs of the MSEs are being worked out.
ACS MSME L N Gupta is harping on Cluster Development and recently he reviewed the proposed program on Cluster Development in various sectors of MSEs.
Based on concentration of industrial activities, 54 Potential Clusters have been identified for interventions.
Mr.Gupta has asked to strengthen the Cluster Development Cell in the Directorate of Industries.
Director of Industries Niranjan Sahu along with other senior officials are engaged in organizing SPVs for MSEs, said sources.
As MoMSME Secretary Dr.Panda has extended all out support, Odisha will take advantage of the MSE-CDP Scheme, said a senior official.
