All Praise For Kovind


Chief Minister and BJD Supremo Naveen Patnaik today showered all praise for Ram Nath Kovind.

 
Lauding the Presidential candidate of NDA, Mr.Patnaik said Mr. Kovind’s journey from humble beginnings in a village in Northern Part of the Country to being a candidate for the highest office in India is a true reflection of the transition that Modern India has undergone.
 
“He is symbolic of the new aspiring Indian. His path reflects the strength of our Constitution which guarantees every Indian the right to dream big irrespective of caste, creed or religion, the BJD Boss said while addressing party  Lawmakers at State Legislative Assembly here to introduce the NDA Prez candidate.
 
Mr.Patnaik said what sets Mr.Kovind apart is his hard work, determination and his commitment to the cause of the oppressed and the downtrodden

Chief Minister also said, “I am sure Sir, the path you have treaded so far makes you supremely qualified to hold the highest office of the land and protect the sublime values enshrined in our Constitution.”
 
Mr.Patnaik said, Odisha's journey has been very similar. Having faith in and upholding the principles of democracy, secularism and inclusive growth, Odisha has come a long way.
 
BJD Boss said the regional party has as its core, the values of empowerment of tribals, scheduled caste, women, children, farmers and youth leading to a progressive and prosperous Odisha.
 
Mr.Kovind met ruling BJD MLAs and MPs at Odisha Assembly and had lunch with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during his one-day visit here.
 
He addressed the BJD MLAs and MPs at the Assembly conference hall after the Chief Minister's introduction.
 
Mr.Kovind, accompanied by Union Minister Health & Family Welfare J P Nadda, spent around an hour at Naveen Niwas, the Chief Minister's residence for the luncheon meeting with Mr.Patnaik.
 
 
"I am very happy to be here and thankful to the BJD led by Naveen Patnaik for supporting me," Mr.Kovind told Media after having luncheon meeting.
 
Earlier Mr.Kovind was welcomed by senior BJD Leader and Minister Finance S B Behera and BJP Legislative Party Leader K V Singh Deo at the city airport on his arrival by a special flight.
 
Mr.Kovind's meeting with BJD legislators and MPs was considered as a mere formality as Mr.Patnaik had already announced his party's support to the NDA nominee describing him as a "distinguished dalit leader."
 
Governing BJD has 117 MLAs in 147-Member Odisha Legislative Assembly and 28 MPs (20 in Lok Sabha and eight in Rajya Sabha).
 
Mr.Kovind garlanded the statue of Buxi Jagabandhu and met BJP MLAs and leaders at the party's Legislature Party leader KV Singh Deo's residence near Raj Bhawan.
 
He held discussion with BJP Lawmakers and was happy to meet them and senior leaders like Jual Oram, Dilip Ray, Basant Panda and other lauded Mr.Kovind for his simplicity and down to earth approach.
