LOGJAM BETWEEN IOCL AND ODISHA GOVERNMENT RELEASED  UNION MINISTER PETROLEUM & NATURAL GAS DHARMENDRA PRADHAN TOOK LEAD ROLE IN SORTING OUT ISSUES  CHIEF MINISTER NAVEEN PATNAIK AND PETROLEUM MINISTER DHARMENDRA PRADHAN HELD DISCUSSIONS EARLIER ON 18 AUGUST  CHIEF SECRETARY A P PADHI AND UNION PETROLEUM SECRETARY K D TRIPATHY HELD CONSULTATIONS ON FRIDAY EVENING  ODISHA GOVERNMENT WILL ALLOW 15 YEARS TAX RELIEF TO IOCL  IOCL WILL GET 700 CRORE LOAN FOR 15 YEAR BEGNNING FROM 2016 -2017  OUT OF 2200 CRORE ODISHA WILL GET 1500 CRORE FROM VAT

Value addition of agricultural products is yet to reach a milestone, said Principal Secretary, MSME Department LN Gupta.

Speaking at an industry academia meet on Opportunities & Challenges of Food Processing Sector in Odisha, organised by  World Trade Centre Bhubaneswar in association with National Small Industries Corporation and Centre for Agri Management, Department of Business Administration, Utkal University here today,  Mr.Gupta highlighted the initiatives of the State Government in this regard.
 
He said that the latest Make in Odisha conclave has brought in huge investment opportunities.

Mr.Gupta deliberated on the Food Processing Policy 2016 of the State which provides for various subsidies and incentives for the benefit of the entrepreneurs.

He advocated that it is the skilled human resource which has to come forward to reap the benefits of this particular sector which has immense potential.

Considering the existing potentials he referred to the various clusters which are pertinently rich in products such as Cashew, rice, maze, Spices etc.

“Horticulture products are in surplus and the requirement is to tap it and take it forward into processing” he said.

Showcasing Odisha’s immense success in the sea food production & export sector he shared the recent sanction of a cold chain unit in PPP mode.

While discussing on various food park schemes of the State he advised that the academia should prepare itself to meet the manpower needs of the sector by offeringspecialized degree and diploma courses on food processing.

Sree Prakash, DGM, NSIC while delivering his presentation highlighted various schemes available to the entrepreneurs through NSIC like consortium tendering, low cost technology assistance, providing B2B and B2C platform, material testing facilities through recognized science and technology centres etc.

M Soren, General Manager, NABARD, Bhubaneswar was also present on the occasion to share the various schemes of NABARD framed for this particular sector.

Jatindra Mishra, Course Head, Centre for Agri Management, Department of Business Administration, Utkal University in his opening remarks while talking about the significance of the meet emphasized on the immense potentials and investment opportunities in the sector and the need for bridging the skill gap for its further growth and development.
