Finally tough bureaucrat, Pradeep Jena, an ardent devotee of Lord Jagannath has been appointed as the Chief Administrator of shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
Effecting a minor reshuffle at the top echelon of State Bureaucracy, the State Government today appointed 1989 batch IAS Mr.Jena as the new Chief Administrator of SJTA just two months before the Rath Jatra.
Mr.Jena who will continue in his present assignment as the Principal Secretary Water Resources replaces Suresh Chandra Mohapatra as Chief of SJTA.
Mr.Mohapatra was blamed for the controversy after the mess up of “Brahma Paribartan (Soul Transfer) in Nabakalebar of Trinity.
There was inordinate delay in transfer of Brahma and the State Government faced fury of people and opposition due to mismanagement of the top sacred event.
However, Mr.Mohapatra continued in the assignment till date and now he has been shifted just before Rath Jatra of 2017.
Mr.Jena takes up his job with all seriousness and being a dedicated devotee of Lord Jagannath he will not allow any nonsense, while handling the affairs of the 12th Century Shrine, said officials.
According to a notification of the Department of General Administration, 1993 batch IAS Ashok Kumar Meena will take charge of Secretary of the Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DoeitY).
Mr.Meena will hold the post in addition to his present assignments as Special Secretary General Administration and Finance.
Mr.Meena, known as a No-Nonsense bureaucrat will attend his job with all seriousness as he knows the subject.
While 2000 batch IAS Sujata Kartikeyan is appointed as Commissioner-cum-Director Mission Shakti with additional charge of Director Watershed Mission, her batch mate T Apang Ao will be the new Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) of Southern Division.
Notably, Mr.Ao has come back to the State after successful completion of Inter Cadre Deputation in Nagaland.
