Vet Service Critical ; PFA

Animal lovers of Odisha have requested State Government to include Veterinary services, Feeding, Fodder and relating services to save our animal in this critical time under "Critical Category".

Jiban Ballabh Das, Secretary People For Animals (PFA) has written to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in this regard.

He said that due to COVID19 all food sources closedown, Stray animals depends on food sources now starving without food.

Animals are important part of our Ecosystem. Without them we also can't live. At this moment please help the innocent animals to survive. Government of India declared Vet services, Feed, Fodder under "Essential Services".

Pet food shops should open only to sell foods. Police should allow for limited movement of Animal welfare volunteers with I-card to move the destination to feed the stray animals starving without food for a limited time.

Veterinary staffs, Animal care taker of registered organisation with I-card should allow to meet any emergencies due to COVID19.

State Government should categories veterinary services, Feeding of Animals, Fodder, feed under critical category and Essential services.

At this movement services to animal for their survival is very important. If they will not get food we may face another challenge due to mass death without food.

Govt. should make provision for feeding of stray animals and animals depends on tourists for food. Now Govt. should act for their survival.

PFA has appealed CM to consider the services critical and allow volunteers, vets, and related workers those trying to help our animals for survive at this critical time.

Looking at the plight of the animals, People for Animals and Dhyan foundation stood behind the survival of stray animals in and around Bhubaneswar and Monkeys in Khandagiri and Udayagiri caves.

All food sources closed due to lockdown for COVID19. Tourist spots are closed and the Monkeys in Khandagiri depends on tourist for their food.

Now they are starving without food. Similarly stray animals like dog and cattle not getting food due to close down of all food sources.

PFA and Dhyan foundation has started feeding Monkeys in Khandagiri cave and stray animals for their survival.

Mr.Das said “If animals will not taken care properly like feeding, health care we have to face another challenge of mass death animals due to starvation”.

Now the role of every individual, Government and Non Government Organizations, Corporate is very much vital and they should come forward to provide food and health care to all animal those starving due to COVID19, urged the PFA Chief.
