Odisha Got Agri Award

Resident Commissioner Odisha, Sanjib Kumar Mishra, received the “Agriculture Leadership Award-2019” for outstanding leadership in developing state’s potential in fisheries.

Award was presented by Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar in a simple ceremony here in presence of Governor of Kerala P Sathasivam, who was the Chairman of Selection Committee.

Odisha, which has doubled farmers’ income in Fisheries and ARD Sector has achieved Milestones in the Fisheries Sector.

Minister Agriculture, FARD and Hihger Education Arun Sahoo was happy over the achievement of the State.
Mr.Sahoo thanked the Fishermen Community and people involved in Fisheries Sector for the Award.

Way back in 2015, Odisha took lead in announcing a progressive State Fisheries Policy, which has spurred the growth of this sector and it continues to do so and achieved such a recognition, said a senior official.

During last three year Fisheries Sector achieved 45.6 Percent growth and production has touched 4.10 Metric Ton Per hectare.

Odisha has targeted to achieve fisheries export turnover of Rs.20000 Crore Per Annum and putting up efforts in this regard.
