Oram Plea For Ray

Jual Oram knows the capabilities of Dilip Ray.

As Mr.Oram is facing a grim battle, he urged former Rourkela Lawmaker Dilip Ray to re-join BJP ahead of the polling for both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections on 18 April.
"The issues raised by Dilip Babu have been solved as the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has assured him that the work of the second bridge across Brahmani river and conversion of IGH into a super speciality hospital are being expedited," Mr.Oram told Media.
Mr.Oram said with fulfilment of Mr.Ray's demand, there should be no hindrance for the former MLA to re-join the BJP.
Mr.Ray last year had quit the BJP as well as from the membership of the State Legislative Assembly over the non-fulfilment of promises made to the people of Rourkela.
Though Mr.Ray resigned from BJP, National Leadership is yet to accept his resignation as a Member of National Executive.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the steel city in 2015 had promised a second bridge over the river Brahmani and upgradation of Ispat General Hospital (IGH) into a super speciality hospital.
However, as the five-year tenure of the Modi government came to an end, Mr.Ray raising the issue opted for leaving the BJP.
In a communication to Mr.Ray, the PMO informed that work has already been initiated by the Union Steel Ministry as per the revised estimate for the hospital project.
Mr.Ray was also informed that the fund has been transferred to SAIL through SBI on February 21 while remaining funds will be provided in time.
Strong Man of Sundargarh in a twitter post has expressed his happiness over the development. He also mentioned that the PMO’s assurance is a great relief for the people of Rourkela.
Now Mr.Oram needs Mr.Ray's support in the elections as the former Rourkela MLA had ensured his victory from Sundergarh Lok Sabha seat in 2014 by giving huge margin in favour of the Party.

While Mr.Oram in 2014 defeated his BJD candidate Dilip Tirkey by 18,829 votes, the BJP had polled 64,086 votes from Rourkela assembly segment alone. The BJD candidate on the other hand got 42,227 votes in Rourkela.
Dilip Ray, as a BJP candidate from Rourkela assembly segment, had ensured a lead margin of 21,859 votes for BJP candidate Jual Oram in 2014.
Meanwhile, Mr.Oram has also admitted that absence of Mr.Ray from electioneering will affect BJP's electoral prospect in Sundergarh.
